I went on a 13 day trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands from January 2-14.
It was a 3-credit course that I took with 33 other students from my school, Johns Hopkins University. Most of my photos (about 240) can now be found at the course's website. These date from January 2-10 and cover Quito, the rain forest, the highlands, and the beginning of our time in the Galapagos. 46 other photos from the rest of our stay in the Galapagos are located on a Yahoo! photos page.

 

We spent the second week of August in a condo on the beach in the city of Kill Devil Hills, which is where all the hurricanes that hit North Carolina seem to hit. This time we left the day that Charley was coming right towards us. Check out some of the pictures below, especially the ones of the amazing flying people.

 

I was lucky enough to win tickets to see SNL live back on November 15. Alec Baldwin was the host and the musical guest was Missy Elliott. Mike Myers made a special appearance during the monologue. After the show, we met Kenan and saw a bunch of other cast members as well. Check out some of the pictures I took while I was in Manhattan.

 

I've wanted to see a Phillies game at Camden Yards for some time now, and last summer it finally happened. A couple friends and I drove down on a Sunday morning to catch the afternoon game. The Phils won, of course, 3-2, and Jim Thome hit his 20th home run of the season in the first inning, while started Kevin Millwood got the win. It may be hard to believe, but my sister graduated from high school this past June. This page has some pics from the graduation ceremonies, the reception afterwards, and a ton of pics from her graduation party, which was back on Memorial Day weekend in May.

 

We drove up to Rhode Island on Thanksgiving day, not for the holiday, but for a surprise 50th birthday party for one of my mom's best friends. There's a bunch of pictures from the party as well as some of my cousins and other family we saw while we were up there.

 

Way back when, 30 years ago or so, my mom and her brother and sisters threw their parents a surprise party for their 25th anniversary. So I thought it was only right to continue on this tradition. Along with lots of help from other people, my brother, two sisters, and I gave my parents a surprise party back in August 2002.
