Philadelphia Phillies vs. Atlanta Braves, 4/17/05
This was my first Phillies game at their new ballpark. It was also part two of our Philly sports
doubleheader night, as we walked crossed Patterson Avenue after the Phantoms game to get
to Citizens Bank Park. The ballpark is pretty nice and I especially loved the Geno's Steaks out
in the outfield, although it took me most of two innings to get there and get a cheesesteak. We
had really good seats, 25 rows up right behind first base. The game itself was slightly boring for
the most part until the 8th inning or so. It went scoreless into the 10th, when the Braves finally
scored a run on a sacrifice fly. But in the bottom half of the inning, the Phils tied the game on a
throwing error by Braves closer Danny Kolb and then won the game on a bases loaded hit by
second baseman Placido Polanco. Phillies 2, Braves 1!
